What have I learned so far?
* The concept of DAR seems to be a useful one. Through talking with people experienced in both COP and AR, nobody has suggested that it's a duplication of something which already exists, or that it doesn't make sense or can't work. As well as this absence of negative data, there is some positive encouragment as well.
* There is a diversity of views about what constitutes a COP, how they can be developed, about what constitues AR, and some fundamentally differing attitudes towards facilitation, knowledge management and technology for communities. Some of these I have assembled into a table which is presented as the Four Dichotomies, and has proved to be a useful artefact for stimulating thought and discussion.
* There are a number of existing communities or forums which are relevant but not specific to my work with DAR, some of which overlap and all of which merit my participation. There is possibly potential for A DAR community to emerge from combining a small subset from each.
