Another community covering the same domain as ukcider is discovered.

Join in the new community and build links

public posts, membership log, journal

Wiki advocacy,

Enduring bridges built,

cross membership, wiki links

Noted the perceived activity illusion with asynchronous boards. Loose endpoint problematic.

Asynchronous groups

Research Cycles

Maintain link, Monitor for other instances

2

Lack of cider wiki coverage for some UK regions

Point out the situation to the mailing list as a kind of target.

wiki edit data, public posts, wiki discussions, journal

 Many findings

  Wiki Facilitation

Similar process for larger sections with more potential ie: Devon, Somerset, Dorset

3

Pilot exhibition obtained much feedback, new Blog is not well launched

Reply to all feedbacks on blog, maintain increased posting level for a period

Blog articles and comments, journal, technorati data, web stats

Questioning the value of blogging, for the continuous effort involved.

It would have been better to reply in person to the original comments as they came in.

Technorati is not a reliable tool.

The planned actions were not implemented within the timescale, some drifting out of reach.

Refined definition of DAR, invitation to CP2W2.

For the main exhibition, engage with responses straight away.

4

DAR seems to be useful as a concept, but I have not exposed it to wide scrutiny yet.

Begin to converse about DAR with appropriate communities   Some interest, and some confusion about the "distibuted" part.

5

I am invited to a month long WEB2.0 conference at CPsquare.

Change plans to immerse myself in the month long conference, and see what happens

My contributions, Contributions to the Action Research area set up my myself, Instant Messages, Journal

pointers to CIRN and AOiR groups

Significant learning

An emerging research question is "what are the implications of developing Web2.0 environments for CoPs and for DAR?"

DAR group at AREOL, Wiki Barn raising, membership of CP2, DAR topic at Prato dialog.

6

Interest in DAR, suggestion to hold a synchronous chat

Put out an invitation, schedule a chat, create a 'fringe event' space.

Transcript of chat, emails, ensuing async discussion

3 ideas to pursue

Voodoopad technique for Emergent code analysis method - elements

3 ideas for the group to pursue

7

I am facilitating a discussion space about AR

Hold back from directing, encourage the flow.

Email copies of individual discussion posts

A wide ranging and extensive discussion, which was appreciated, although not strongly focussed on my own research interest.

underlying assumption that the facilitator is there to serve. Can get more out of a topic if somebody else facilitates - turn taking.

improved Voodoopad technique for Emergent code analysis method - complete attributed posts.

Integration with newly joined community, maintain links. Transfer ideas to DARwiki

Start up a Glossary on an integrated wiki next to the discussion

screenshots, wiki dump, diff ( from DARwiki backup)

Collaboration begins, wiki takes off, one contributor takes ownership.

9

Details about AREOL posted

enrol myself and facilitate others.

async discussion and blog posts.

11 people register, a group about COPs at AREOL set up.

Blog post

Nancy White-"good stuff"

ukcider wiki contains facts but not so much "soft knowledge".

Negotiate and then edit and publish the cidermaker's diary.

Wiki stats, and feedback from Rose.

Publicise Rose's Wiki and encourage similar.
