There's a topic  in the questions and answers forum about "blogs or forums"  and we are  wondering about personalisation in the setup and if maybe new blog posts don't necessarily get published to the front page. 

If you were starting up a new online community and encouraging people to begin writing and interacting, it may be best to restrict the number of options right down and keep it very simple at first, then add more options later.

Would you start out by offering blogs or forums as the best means to get started?
