Red Panda

The red panda is a very special animal, once thought to be related to the giant panda but now known to be more closely connected gentically with the raccoon and weasel. An endangered species, like the giant panda, this red panda is not wild but a resident at London Zoo, from which one of the red pandas has escaped in the past.
