Not quite true. Pages are meant to be &#039;official&#039;, set up by &quot;an official representative of a brand, organisation or person&quot;. Unofficial fan pages aren&#039;t allowed - instead you&#039;re encouraged to use groups.

Which in some way is re-enforcing their status as social objects, as it encourages there to be only one definitive page for each person/product/company/band/etc.</description>
