The latest addition to the count of bird species spotted in the garden was his one last week. Not a very useful photo I know, but evidence enough for me and I saw it doing the full woodpecker thing in the walnut tree before it landed on the feeder here.
It was a great spotted woodpecker, common enough in Wantead Park but this is the first one I’ve seen in the more domestic environment, although it’s a common enough occurance by all accounts.
