And here’s that famous picture of the millau bridge which was opened last week.

NIce pic-whenever I get sick of London, all I need to do is go into town and see a view like this and I feel better!
By the way…I’ve forgotten how to use a jpeg still from a video for the link to the video itself-have spent to long trying to figure it out! What do you do?
I sometimes use the “create thumbnail” option, with “show me the HTML” and then adjust it to point to the .mov instead of the original jpeg. ( as in
Is the pink caused by lights on the bridge? Or camera effect? One of the great things about any place - I would say cities, cos I prefer them, but I guess it’s true on the countryside - is how sights that are ‘just round the corner’ are seldom seen. I *never* go near London Bridge, although Waterloo and Blackfriars are very familiar.
No effects were added, the camera was set to auto, with the flash off. To the naked eye, the side of the bridge is lit up red and reflected in the water. But with the length of exposure required to capture what must be considerably lower intensity reflections, the side of the bridge gets whited out. Erm, is that a convincing explanation?
Talking of bridges, I just have to go and see that new one in the massif centrale sometime.
Thanks Andy… yes the Viaduc de Millau looks so great… did you see the pictures on the BBC News site, with is sitting amid clouds. beautiful.
Mind you I get excited every time I travel over the Dartford Bridge…
I like bridges too and that new one looks fantastic! I’d love to go and see it
Thanks for the tip Andy-I’ll try it next time!
Does anybody know who took that picture of the Millenium Bridge featured at the beginning of this site? I would like to use if for the postcard facility on our website.
Thanks in advance.
Andy, I have been looking for a picture of London Bridge lit up in red for to illustrate a recent post about kayking under its blood red glow. Yours is perfect!
I have linked to it but would love to use a copy on my site too. May I?
Hi Luke,
You are welcome, all I ask is a link back to this site. Cheers
Andy
Thanks Andy. Please note that the link from my name to the site in the above comment is broken. The one below should work.
