Borough Market is a kind of urban farmers’ market /delicatessen stalls type place near London Bridge. I go there sometimes to find some real cider and to pick up some wet fish or game. The cider stall is from the New Forest, oysters from Colchester, lakeland rabbits, and lots of speciality bread, olives and cheeses. Today’s star is a monkfish head.

Thanks for the reminder of the joys of Borough Market
I liked the monkfish – very photogenic.
Shame there’s no live lobster movie! I have a bit of one I took in the summer, (movie not lobster!) somewhere, but the lobster was so dozy it only moved its eye.
But I think posting the picture of the New Forest cider stall is just plain cruel, especially on a Friday night, and me so far north……

Unlike Linda, I wouldn’t make my best friend out of the monkfish !
But speaking of London markets, what are the news about Spitalfields Market?
I wouldn’t make the monkfish my best friend either Cathy lol.
I might make my best friend (who is very fond of monkfish) their dinner with it though

Spitalfields Market, well half of the old building has been knocked down and replaced by an enormous office block. The other end is still more or less as it was, just a bit smaller. If I didn’t have things to do I might go there in the morning.
