Canada Geese are becoming a nuisance on many of our inland lakes, rivers and larger ponds. A species non-native to Britain, they seem to thrive better than our native geese and swans, especially when people throw them dozens of loaves of bread and sacks of rice.

Many thanks for having a stab at identifying the mysterious flower! One of the local botanists reckons its a Lesser Celandine (sp?)-as for sticky leaves-I’ll check next time I’m down there!
