Politics Blogging
Being an election year, I toyed with the idea of starting up a dedicated politics blog, in order to bring a fresh approach to my writing and interact with some new audiences. In the end I took some advice, prevaricated, and then more or less decided to simply include some politics blogs amongst all the other stuff. So here we are in May 2010 and the politics category looks like this:

Happy New Year from DARnet
Happy New Year for 2010 from DARnet.
In 2009 we finally moved hosts, changed theme and a few other modifications but the main thrust of the DARnet blogging has remained just as eclectic as ever.
Maybe in 2010 we will bring some more focus to the blogging, maybe not. It looks like we’ll be sticking with WordPress for the forseeable future, despite some misgivings.
Maybe the email list will be developed, or the Wiki.

London Festival Fringe 2010
I’ve heard about the London Festival Fringe festival but I’m not sure if it’s really going to take place or if it’s just a load of hype at the moment.

Upgrade to WordPress 2.8.1 and migration
I’ve upgraded this blog to WordPress 2.8.1 which is a minor upgrade, and I’m preparing for a major migration of four blogs a wiki and a load of static content all over from one dying web hosting company to a new one that may or may not be better. This is going to be tricky with a dodgy broadband connection and none at all for a period as the broadband provider switches over and I have to rely on a couple of dongles.

One Blog Down
All blogs upgraded to WordPress 2.8 now with the added bonus of being able to delete one archive blog completely. The blog formerly known as “blog2″ or “Have Envelope Will Push” is no more, having been consolidated into distributedresearch.net/blog ages ago, existing onle for the purpose of hosting a whole load of redirections. So now with the upgrade to WordPress2.8 it has become possible to upgrade the redirection plugin, then export the redirections and import them into the top level blog IE this one.

Theatre Breaks Magazine
Launching a new Theatre Breaks Magazine styled blog over at theatrebreaksmag.co.uk with articles about London breaks, things to do in London, Theatre Breaks, Hotel deals and a West End Guide.

Unlike the existing theatre breaks blog, this one is powered by WordPress but uses a magazine styled theme, which means more of an emphasis on images and content organised around a few realted categories.
